The Alliance for Nonprofit Management is committed to changemaking. As a unique national organization of and for nonprofit capacity builders across the U.S., our work is supporting and expanding the field of capacity building.

Enter the Alliance’s new Fellowship Program. This innovative year-long plus program will pair emerging capacity builders of color with those seasoned in the field to help nurture the next generation of changemakers. This inaugural program is a working pilot with mutual learning serving new capacity builders this year and into the future.

For this inaugural year the Alliance Fellowship Program will begin in the greater Denver, Colorado region. The 2020-21 Alliance Fellows, all emerging capacity builders of color from the Denver area, will select two experienced capacity builders who will act as Mentors aligned with their areas of interest and to help them network on a national level. Each Fellow will develop a Denver-based community-related project with their Fellow Cohort.

Along with the rich opportunities for experience and learning, Alliance Fellows will receive free Alliance membership in 2020 and a membership discount in 2021. Additionally, complimentary registrations will be provided to Fellows for both 2020 and the 2021 Alliance conferences. At the latter, Alliance Fellows will present on their experiences and learning. Our vision is for each group of Fellows to remain engaged with future Fellows to grow generations of diverse capacity-building professionals for the decades of changemaking work ahead.

What to Expect
Fellows and their paired Mentors will work together over the year in a journey of two-way learning and network building. The Call for Fellows and Fellow Responsibilities describe how Fellows interact. The Call for Mentors and Mentor Responsibilities describe their roles.
